Badfish SUP, in partnership with Surf Salida and The FIBArk (First In Boating on the Arkansas) Whitewater Festival, is excited to announce the Colorado SUP Championships at the 66th annual FIBArk Festival in Salida, CO June 16-19.

FIBArk is that nation’s oldest whitewater festival continuously running (since 1949) on the world class whitewater of the Arkansas River. The event is hosted in Salida’s downtown historic business district and includes live music, carnival and food vendors on the streets of this one of a kind Colorado Mountain Town.

One week after the GoPro Mountain Games in Vail, Colorado, FIBArk is must attend event for any stand up paddler wishing to experience whitewater paddling and river surfing in one of the greatest whitewater towns in the Country.

This year’s Colorado SUP Championships will be hosted over three days and include a river surfing contest, head to head SUP Cross racing and a 10 mile downriver race through class II/III whitewater with cash prizes for the top three overall in the women’s and men’s classes. June is prime time in Colorado and the Colorado SUP Championships is the perfect finale for anyone ready to experience the high point of the Colorado paddling season…run off.

With world class river surfing on the Arkansas, the Colorado River in Glenwood Springs, and the legendary Big Sur wave, Colorado goes off in June. The Arkansas River Valley between Salida and Buena Vista includes two whitewater parks with easy access river surfing and miles of fun river to run on a stand up board.

The FIBArk Festival includes whitewater kayaking competitions, running races, and the world famous Hooligan Race all concentrated in downtown Salida.
